I keep talking about how little baby chimps grow so quickly into enormous and very dangerous adults but its hard to convey just how extreme both ends of this spectrum are. Today I thought I would post some pictures that give some sense of scale. These are my fingers, and two fingers from an adult male chimpanzee:

And these are the fingers of the smallest chimp at Tchimpounga (and one of mine). She is only a few months old and never leaves her mother's side.
