Its not like human laughter but chimps do laugh. And not at comedic things (which is interesting) but rather just when you're having fun and playing a good game, like tickling or, tag, or rough housing. This is Kaoka playing tickle with me. His name means dehydrated which is the condition he was in upon arrival. All the chimps here have weird names, usually something in the local language about their condition on arrival..which is usually sad. there are chimps who's names mean things like 'death'. glad they are all just strange sounds to me and i don't have to know what i am calling them.
this is how you start tickle. go for the sweet spot under the chin which is defended against by tucking the chin down has hard as possible while laughing hysterically.
koaka is totally losing now...but he loves it.
