the domesticates

Apologies for a lack of posting. Its been really busy lately and I was pretty sick for a few days with some kind of bacterial thing in my stomach. Thank god for modern antibiotics which have me on my feet again.

Lola is like Tchimpounga in that there are tons of other animals here too. The big group is cats. A few years ago a lot of bonobos died from what they think was EMCV, a disease that the bonobos get from rats. So now there are literally like 30 cats here to kill every rat in site. Most of them live by the bonobo dorms but some of the sweet ones hang around our house.



Then there is mystic, the mama dog. We call her 'miss-tick' though cause she has like 30 ticks a day we constantly are yanking out. I hope she doesn't have lime disease though cause lately she has been really slow and sleepy.

this is one of her puppies, zoro. i want this dog...he is soo sweet.

and then there are a bunch of goats. i think they just belong to the locals though. oh and chickens....i forgot to take a picture of them though. its kind of gross cause they snap their necks and prepare them to be cooked right next to where we test. makes you a little less interested in eating chicken at night.
